Faith Explosion 2010This year’s Faith Explosion Conference was awesome and explosive. The conference was held on the 7th to 10th of December 2010 at the new Bread of Life Church building in the mining City of Kitwe.

With delegates coming from as far as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Eastern and Southern provinces of Zambia, the Faith Conference was a time of celebration and empowerment for the church.

Bread of Life Church International presiding Bishop Joe Imakando and Pastors Chris Adeoye from Living Faith Connections ministries (United Kingdom) were the main speakers.

Other speakers included Bishop Nelly Chikwanda of New Life Ministries, Host Reverend Kangwa Mumba, Reverend George Chanda, Pastor Joshua Tshanabu (Bread of Life Lubumbashi) and many other anointed men of God.

Bishop opened the Conference with a powerful sermon entitled, “The Power of Destiny” derived from Genesis 25v21-24:
This is an account where Isaac prayed for his wife Rebecca because she was barren.

Bishop Imakando encouraged the people that in life we go through moments of barrenness. Bareness is an opportunity for God to manifest his greatness in our lives. It is also part of our testimony to our fruitfulness. In most cases people of great destiny go through barrenness.

For instance, Isaac prayed and his wife prayed next. A husband must lead in prayer, when a man is prayerful the house is firmly established

Characteristics of Destiny

There is always a separation before fruitfulness. Abraham had to separate from his father before God could bless him. Later he had to separate from Lot and when he went to sacrifice his son (Isaac) he left the servant behind

Jesus also left his disciples when he went to pray.

In life, there are people we need to separate from, in order to reach our destiny. We need to drop off excess baggage. Destiny is by the grace of God.

God chooses the younger and not the elderly by grace, he chose David, Joseph and Jacob over their brothers.

Grace is undeserved favour, God can promote you regardless of who you are.

And guest speaker Pastor Chris Adeoye took the conference to another level with a life transforming teaching from the Gospel of John chapter 10 vs. 10-11 entitled: “Dimension of Understanding”

Understanding and knowledge leads to fruitfulness. The Devil comes to kill and destroy but when we understand who Jesus is and what He said we will not be moved or shaken.

Jesus is the river of life (John 4vs 1-12); He is the bread of life (John 6) in Mathew 15vs1-20 he warns us of things to come. But if we focus on our vision and stand on the word of God we will not be swayed from our destiny. God desires that we live in fruitfulness. God has put a seed of destiny in us; we need to understand what we have.

Among other messages preached were:

  • Fruitfulness through Suffering by Bishop Imakando,
  • What qualifies you for this fruitfulness By Bishop Nelly Chikwanda,
  • Things we have forgotten by Rev. George Chanda.

Bishop Joe Imakando closed the Conference with a powerful sermon “Always Fruitful” from Psalm 92vs 12-15 after preaching with the help of the Reverends and Pastors conducted an anointing session after which Bishop prayed and ministered to the people.

There was an awesome presence of God. The Spirit of God was manifest with many getting touched as ministry was going on; others got delivered from demonic oppression.

Earlier before Bishop preached the Lubumbashi Bread of life praise team led by their Music Director Clovis Kabongo set the ground as they led the congregation in praise as they skilfully sang, played and danced to the glory of God.

Lubumbashi Bread of life praise team led by their charismatic music Director Clovis Kabongo added color and flare to the conference with their energetic and skillful praise music

Pastor Joshua Tshinabu (Lubumbashi Bread of Life Church International):

We thank God for this conference it was special to us; we came to tap into the anointing. The messages we received were life transforming especially “Fruitfulness through suffering” it has taught us to learn to sacrifice for the kingdom of God”
Pastor Tshinabu led a 25 man delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Clovis Kabongo (Lubumbashi):

It was a blessing for us from DRC to attend such a conference and we thank the leadership of Bread of Life Church for giving us the opportunity to minister. From this experience we believe we have moved to another level as we have tapped into the fathers anointing which will enable us to flow at the same level with the churches in Zambia.

Mrs. Emelda M. Mumba
(Wife to Reverend Kangwa Mumba):

As a church we have been lifted to another level. The conference was a reminder to us to change our attitude and keep to the instructions that Jesus gave us. Reverend George Chanda’s sermon “Forgotten instructions” highlighted on such issues. The Church on the Copperbelt will never be the same again. With only a few days to the end of the year the conference could not have come at a better time than this as it has firmly set the church in a position to finish this year strong.

The year 2010 is the year of Fruitfulness and it has been evident in the lives of many including the church as a whole.
