The Great Awakening Youth Conference 2014

The Great Awakening Youth Conference started on 23rd – 26th May 2014 at the Blessing Centre in Emmasdale based on the theme, ‘The Season of Liberty.

 The first day of the conference began with praise and worship, the atmosphere was filled with God’s presence.

Youth and student ministry leader for Bread of Life Church Emmasdale, Pastor Oscar Mumba preached on a sermon entitled, ‘Awakening of the Great Army’.

 

An army of God is a soldier for God who must be disciplined.

 

On the second day of the conference, Pastor Mumba prayed for a great army to be raised among the youths. The service was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit as youths praised and worshipped God. 

 

The last day of the conference started in the morning on Africa freedom Day. The youths celebrated their freedom in God’s presence; others were set free from bondages and many people’s lives were impacted with the grace of God. Prayers were also offered for the continent of Africa.

 

Guest speakers for the conference included Pastor Patrick Osagie who preached on:

‘Get Up and Take it and Enforcing Liberty through Awakening to Spiritual Growth’:

-You need to take up your place in God’s kingdom.

 

-It is important to lay a strong foundation; you need your soul, body and mind to go through transformation in order to grow spiritually. What you hear is what you become, character is important, be patient with the things of God. It is time to grow in the things of God.

Pastor Bruce Msidi preached on, ‘It is Planted and Let me Shine’.

 

Pastor Chris Maboshe preached on, ‘You are what you are by the grace of God’, 1Corinthians 15:10.

 

-Whatever you do is by the grace of God, for you to be in that family or school is God’s grace. Grace comes from God, we do not earn it.

 

The last session of the Great Awakening Conference was that of praying for people. The congregation was prayed for, declarations and prophecies were offered by Pastor Oscar Mumba, Pastor Patrick Osagie, Pastor Bruce Msidi and Pastor Choolwe.

 

During the conference there was honoring of Pastor Bruce Msidi and Pastor Chris Maboshe with a Masters Degree in More logy.

 

There was also an anointing service for the whole congregation towards the end of the service. There was awesome praise, thanking God for His mighty move.

 

The Great Awakening Youth Conference was a time of transformation in the lives of the youth.

WORKSHOP for the Girl Child 

The girl child workshop was conducted on Saturday 24th 2014 May at the Blessing Centre.

The meetings started in the afternoon and was opened by Pastor Godfridah Sumaili followed by powerful praise and worship led by the Girl Child choir.

 

Pastor Sumaili encouraged the participants with a message entitle, ‘You are an overcomer’.

 

Pastor Sumaili stated that this is a new ministry known as ‘The Girl Child ministry’ which was started by pastor Bernadette Imakando.

 

The main aim of this ministry is to mentor young girls into becoming better citizens and future leaders of our church and nation.

 

The launch of this ministry will be done during the fourth coming Women of Integrity conference from 4th to 8th July 2014.

 

The pastor thereafter divided the girls into groups of ten to discuss the issues affecting them.

 

  • Lack of a good relationship and communication with parents
  • Prostitution and early marriages
  • Sexual affairs, which also include older married men
  • Lack of mentorship in the church
  • Lack of sponsorship in terms of education
  • Identity crisis
  • Love of money – not being content with what they have
  • Wrong peers that make girls make wrong decisions
  • Low self esteem
  • Competition
  • The way they are raised in their homes
  • Abuse – sexual, mental, labour etc 

 Pastor Bernadette Imakando thanked God for the girl children and blessed them.

How can one become a Member of BLCI?
To start with, one has to give his or her life to the Lord that is to be born again. After this, one has to through a foundation class which basically aims at grounding the newly born again believer to the basic Christian principles. When was Bread of Life Church founded?
Bread of Life Church International was founded on 13th September 1992 with a vision of bringing thousands into the kingdom of God. The church, then located on plot 136 Chinyunyu road in Emmasdale had a congregation of 120.
Who is the Presiding Bishop of BLCI?
Bishop Imakando is currently the Presiding Bishop of Bread of life Church International. He also happens to be the founder of Bread of Life Church in August 1992, when while in Lagos Nigeria God gave him the vision that led to the birth of Bread of life Church International.
