Today the 20th August 2016 Deacons gathered to review on their operations as the ministry and reflected on the way forward. Deacons are directly involved in the running of the church activities, to effectively execute their duties they have divided themselves in to different committees that will help the church in many ways.

God might use a method to break you through, the method God may use may not be the kind you are used to. The instructions to your breakthrough may be funny, you might not understand the method but do it 2. Do not settle for anything less than what is your potion, it is those who know what they want who will get what they want. 3. When you are misunderstood, stay true to your call do not allow misunderstanding to change your direction.

Breaking of Bread

Written by

Sunday 31st July 2016 was the Breaking of Bread at Blessing Centre in Emmasdale.

Bishop Joe Imakando encouraged the congregation on the sermon, entitled, ‘The Believers Fringe Benefits.’

In the sermon, Bishop Imakando encouraged believers not to forget what the Lord has done for them. ‘The Lord healed us, gave us a job, a business, a child and protected us from all manner of evil attacks’.

In Psalm 103:1-5, ‘Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles’.

The following are the fringe benefits:

God’s forgiveness

God who heals our diseases

God redeems us from various pits: pre-mature death, armed robbers, witches and wizards.

God who crowns us with steadfast love and mercy

God who blesses us with good things

You may not have the fringe benefits from your employer but we have the best blessings from God.

As the congregation took part in the Breaking of Bread, the emblems are symbols of God’s forgiveness, healing, mercy and the goodness of Lord.

Message title: Builders Mindset
Text: Nehemiah 1:1-5
Life is about building, we build infrastructure, relationships and families. Everyone is a builder.
How to be a master builder:
a) Be a man or woman of concern:

If you are concerned about your community, you will build something. Concern leads to innovation.
b) Builders must be informed:
Information will motivate you to build something. As a builder, you need to know about your past events, present realities and future potentials.
c) As a builder you need to be a thinker:
Lazy minds cannot build. There are two ways to build: introspective and retrospective.
d) Prioritize Spiritual resources:
There are two realms: Supernatural and natural realms. You need to operate on the super level.
Things to Prioritize:
i) Prayer life
ii) Fasting
iii) Tithes and offerings
iv) The word of God
v) Seed sowing
. Be connected:
Realize a covenant connection that will help to strategise and talk business.

Miracle Service and Holy Communion

Written by

Bread of Life Church held a Miracle service and Holy Communion Service at the Blessing Centre on the 15th of May 2016. In attendance was Chongwe, Meanwood, Chawama, Kanyama, Lusaka West and Emmasdale churches. Bishop Joe Imakando preached on a message entitled, ‘Powerful Ministry at Ephesus’, Acts 19:8-12. Ephesus was a leading city and business centre of Asia minor. It was a city full of every kind of evil, magicians and sorcerers had great influence in the city. Paul preached the gospel and the Ephesus church was planted, which was pastured by young Timothy. His ministry was characterized by powerful preaching and unusual miracles. Powerful preaching at Ephesus Paul entered the synagogue, a place of worship. Paul believed the gospel was preached to the Jew first and then to the Gentiles. The synagogue was full of religious Jews. Paul preached there the gospel. Today, there are so many churches that are religious and full of people who are worshipping a god they do not know. To this effect, Bishop Imakando warned the congregation to be aware of false prophets. All of Asia minor heard the word of God, after preaching for 2 years, the word spread out to both Jews and Gentiles and a church was established at Ephesus which was later pastured by Timothy. Paul’s patience and commitment paid off. As a Christian you need to press on, trusting and believing God until He answers you. Do not give up easily. Miracles at Ephesus In Acts 19:11-13, God needed Paul’s hand in order to perform miracles and in order for man to work miracles, he needs the power of God. God works miracles through the hands of a chosen vessel. 1 Corinthians 12.10; Acts 3.6 When our trust is in God, we shall see miracles. Bishop Imakando encouraged the congregation to have faith in God. The Bishop gave a testimony of a three women who went to his home seeking prayer for a very sick woman. Due to their faith and persistence, the woman received her healing after being prayed for by Bishop. At the end of the service, the Holy Communion was conducted. The Holy Communion, known also as the Lord’s Supper, represents the greatest expression of God’s love for His people. Two items are used in the Holy Communion—the bread which represents Jesus’ body that was scourged and broken before and during His crucifixion, and the cup which represents His shed blood. When Jesus walked on earth, He was vibrant, and His body was full of life and health. He was never sick. But before Jesus went to the cross, He was badly scourged by the Roman soldiers, and His body was torn as He hung on the cross. At the cross, God also took all our sicknesses and diseases and put them on Jesus’ originally perfect and healthy body, so that we can walk in divine health. That is why the Bible says by His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). In Luke 22:20, Jesus tells us that the cup is the “new covenant in My blood”, and the apostle Paul tells us that the blood of Jesus brings forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14, Ephesians 1:7). Holy Communion is a service considered by most Christian churches. According to the New Testament, it was instituted by Jesus Christ during his Last Supper.
