Isaiah 49:14-16, Romans 8:37-39

There are times when we are faced with problems which seem to crush us… we lose sight of God…we begin to feel and conclude that He has deserted us, forgotten us, we are on our own and He does not care anymore about us.

This went on in the minds of Israelites when they were scattered and taken to Babylon into captivity. Their city Jerusalem (Zion) was destroyed and laid in ruins. In their misery and disgrace, they felt discouraged. They concluded that God had abandoned them. He had forsaken and forgotten them. They thought He had written them off.

Job on his trial also concluded the same. Do you feel the same thing that God has  abandoned you by not answering your prayers? The children of Israel complained too. But God answered them in form of a question. “Can a woman forget her nursing child? He then assured them of His love towards them.

Do you feel abandoned, that God has written you off, have you concluded He has forsaken or forgotten you? God has declared, “He will never leave you nor forsake you”. Nothing is able to separate us from his everlasting love. It could be that you are a problem because of your compromising life. Then Repent, forsake your sin and return to Him. Trust in God, He has neither forgotten nor forsaken you. You are still on His agenda. It’s impossible and inconceivable for God to forget about you. Just wait upon Him… He is saying, ”Be still and know that I am God”.
