2Kings 2:1-14

Every person, every ministry, every church or every business has the season of manifestation. The bible has told us that there is time for everything. This also means that there is a time for your manifestation.

That is:

• It's a time when God will expose you.
•  It’s a time when God will expose your ministry.
• It’s a time when God will expose your business.
• It’s a time when God will make you visible.
• It’s a time when God will unveil you.

Every person will remain ordinary until they are manifested. Until there is manifestation for a ministry, it will have no impact. Until there is manifestation for a church, it will maintain its status quo.

Elisha was just an ordinary man not until God manifested him. Manifestation means God has brought you to prominence. He has brought your potential out. It means everything about you has changed.

Four signs of Elisha’s manifestation:

1. Elisha Knew his season of manifestation: Elisha understood his season of manifestation when prophets confirmed it three times to him that God was about to take away his master Elijah, to heaven in a whirlwind. God does not do a thing before he reveals it. He communicates what he is about to do in your life.

Before Jesus went to heaven he said: “But when he, the spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you ....he will tell you what is to come. (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit has a ministry to review  about your future through prophesies or God’s word.

2. There was opposition to Elisha’s manifestation: Three times Elijah opposed Elisha so that he couldn't follow; “Stay here the Lord has sent me to Bethel”. But Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you”. So they went down to Bethel.

In v4, again Elijah said to Elisha: “Stay here; Elisha, the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live; I will not leave you”. So they went down to Jericho.

In v6, again Elijah said to him, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Jordan”. But Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you”. So they went down to Jordan.

If you can understand Elisha’s work, we can say he was an aide to Elijah. He was the one who carried Elijah’s bags and poured water on him. But he was shocked to be told by his master (Elijah) ordering  him to leave. Though he was offended, he refused to leave his master (Elijah) for he knew that his blessings were connected to him.

There are people that God brings in our lives; through them we get blessings. Loosing them we miss it. Because they are holding keys to our manifestation. When you leave them, you blow your future away.

Refuse to get upset over little issues: Ruth 1v14, Naomi had two sons, they both died. Then she told her two daughters in law, Orpah and Ruth to leave her. At this they wept again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth clung to her. Ruth refused to go for she understood that Naomi was the one who held keys to her future. And it happened that in the process she ended up getting married to Boaz who was in the lineage of Jesus.
3. Elisha greatly desired his master’s manifestation: I would like to quote the words of one preacher, Ricky Godwin, who said: “Elisha had watched how Jezebel had played a number or two over his (Elijah) master. And the master ran away.  Elisha said to himself, ‘If I need to face that woman (Jezebel) I need a double anointing of my master (Elijah)'.

Stop thinking small. Attempt and expect big things from God. The years past, I remember reading a story of a certain King in England, -- In the United Kingdom, who decided to visit his subjects to the country side. As he walked with his entourage, he came across a woman. After he greeted her, he asked, “What would you like me do for you? She replied, “Ooh! King live forever just give me an acre of land and I will be happy”. The King replied, “Request denied”. And he went on. He met again another group of people, he asked them too, “What would you want me do for you? They replied, “Ooh! King live forever, all we need are some animals for milk then we will be fine”. The King replied, “Request denied! He proceeded with a tour and met a third person. He asked him the same question. The person replied, “Ooh! King live forever, if only you can help me build a small house then I will be satisfied”. The King replied, “No! Request denied”. The King went on and once more he met a fourth person; he also asked him the same question. The person answered, “Ooh! King live forever, if only you could give me half of your kingdom I will be happy”. The King replied, “Yes! Request granted”. And when some people saw it they complained to the King, “How! You refused to accept small requests from others, how can you give him half of your Kingdom? The King replied, “Because I have vast resources, therefore I am tired of small requests.

Same applies; God has abundant resources. In Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.

Ask God for big things. Jesus was thrilled by Peter when he was asked if Peter could walk towards him on water. Jesus did not rebuke Peter or ask him that, “What’s wrong with you Peter, don’t you know that I am of God. Do you know where I came from, haven’t you heard prophesies about me? But Jesus just told Peter that, “Come!”. And Peter walked on water.

4. Elisha Manifested: "Elisha manifested because he obeyed a condition from Elijah, 2 Kings 2:10, “Yet if you “see” me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise not”.

When you obey what God has asked you to do, he will manifest you. Elisha began to be manifested—v14, he parted the water. He said to himself, "The condition is that I must see him go”. He followed Elijah everywhere he went. He was focused. Until he saw Elijah being taken up to heaven.

To be a winner in life you need to be focused. Know want you want, be a person of priorities. When Elijah was taken up to heaven, by faith Elisha said to himself, “I now have the manifestation”. And He rushed to pick up pieces of clothes. . He shouted, “Where the God of Elijah is? He strike the water and it parted.

Some of you God has already anointed you for manifestation, yet you haven’t boldly taken your position. God has already opened the doors, yet you haven’t walked in it by faith. Some of you God has already answered you, yet you haven’t taken your possessions. Get ready for your season of manifestation has come!

Signs of Manifestation:

i. Know your season of manifestation by sensing that you are about to deliver.
ii. Fulfil whatever God has asked you to do and walk in obedience.
iii. Overcome opposition. People will oppose you but don’t allow them to stop you. Opposition will change your position.
iv. Act on your faith to do whatever the occasion will demand.
